The Lascivious Biddies are a band based in New York City that play a mixture of pop, jazz and cabaret. They first performed in 2001 shortly after September 11th. Their first concert was a Halloween show at the Cutting Room in Manhattan, New York. The then-quartet were costumed as runaway brides. They have been featured on The Food Network, The Discovery Channel, Fuse TV, a national TV commercial for Chili’s Restaurants, a segment on CBS Evening News, and heard nationally on NPR, local radio stations across America, and internationally on the BBC. So far two albums and two E.P.s have been released. ''Biddi-luxe!,'' their debut album, was released in 2002, the ''I Feel Biddy'' E.P. was released in 2003 in wait for their next full album and finally ''Get Lucky'' was released in October 2004. They have a DVD available at their website, "Live in New York City". Their latest E.P., ''Love You Mean It,'' was released in May 2007. The band was also featured on an episode of Cash Cab, on the Discovery Channel. After making it to their destination, they walked out of the cab with no money after losing $225 on the "double or nothing" video bonus question when they named J. Edgar Hoover as a former U.S. president. The Lascivious Biddies are also known for their "Biddycast," a Podcast they started in 2005. Original guitarist Amanda Monaco left the band in late 2007, citing her work on other projects. Guitarist Ila Cantor joined in March, 2008, but has since left the band as well. In 2010, The Biddies received a commission from the Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall to create a version of the band for families and children. They formed the Itty Biddies and began performing shortly thereafter. It is for this project that the three Biddies began writing music as an ensemble. Coincidentally, this opportunity came up just after the birth of Deidre Rodman Struck and Saskia Lane's baby daughters. Deidre Rodman Struck has since birthed another girl. An Itty Biddies EP is in the works and due to be released in later 2012. The Biddies have worked with the Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall since 2002.
